Description
This is a political cartoon commenting on the student uprisings in 1969. It features an unruly group of university students holding picket signs with phrases such as, "Riot!" and "Don't Trust the Establishment!" and "Pot, LSD" written on them. The leader holds a sign that says "Student Rights." The group is depicted marching up a hill which is labeled "College Unrest 1969." Towering above the crowd is a young Abraham Lincoln holding an axe with his name on it over his right shoulder. Lincoln is depicted wearing overalls and a work shirt and holding a book in his left hand. The title is handwritten in blue pencil in the top margin. The artist's signature is handwritten below the word "College." "February 12 1969" is stamped on the reverse side.
