Description

This lithograph features the funeral car on which rests President Abraham Lincoln's casket being pulled by white horses. The funeral car or catafalque was used to transport the casket from the train depot to the State House for public viewing on April 29th, 1865. Columbus, Ohio, was one of the twelve stops the Lincoln funeral train made along the route from Washington, D.C., to Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois.
