Description

This postcard is a photograph of President Abraham Lincoln's funeral car which carried his casket from Washington, D. C., to Springfield, Illinois, in 1865. The car is draped in black mourning cloth. Three guards are standing beside the funeral car. The postcard reverse is divided. A handwritten note in black ink reads "Car which carried Lincoln's remains." The postcard is addressed to C. B.
