This commemorative, colored lithograph is the cover to a piece of sheet music written for the funeral of Colonel Elmer Ellsworth, the first officer to die during the United States Civil War. Col. Ellsworth is depicted in his military uniform standing on an American flag. Text in the bottom margin reads, "Funeral March."
