Description
This black and white print depicts the funeral scene of President Abraham Lincoln in Columbus, Ohio. A funeral procession runs horizontally across the foreground and includes rows of soldiers, a team of white horses pulling Lincoln's coffin, and two other carriages and various other men on horses. The background is a city scene with the Ohio capitol building to the left and other downtown buildings surrounding a grassy park area. A large crowd fills the streets to the far right. American flags fly at half mast. The title of the composition is printed below, "Funeral Obsequies of the Late Pres't A. Lincoln, Columbus, O., April 29, 1865."
