Description

This 28mm copper 1860 campaign medal features a member of the Wide-Awakes Republican Party supporters group in the center wearing their signature oil cloth cape and holding a parade torch in one hand and the pole in the other hand. The legend "Hartford Wide-Awakes is above the image. The reverse features a Wide-Awake member wearing a cape and holding the assembled parade torch in his right hand. The legend above the figure "Organized March Third" has five stars at each end. The rest of the date "1860" is below the figure.
