Description

This woodcut engraving depicts the crowd of people watching the election returns on the night of November 6, 1860, outside the Herald Office in New York City at the corner of Fulton and Nassau Streets. The illustration was published in the November 10, 1860, issue of Harper's Weekly Journal of Civilization on pages 712-713.
