The family lived in this home where three of their sons were born from 1844 to 1861 when the family moved to Washington, D. C. Here Lincoln was notified of his nomination to the Presidency. The house was deeded to the State of Illinois in 1887 by the only surviving son, Robert Todd Lincoln. The postcard reverse is divided. Narrative text is printed on the left side. The number P7947 is printed along the top edge near the middle. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
