Description

This is an artist's proof of the political cartoon that appeared in the St. Louis Post Dispatch in June of 1935. The title is "At the Grass Roots Convention." In the cartoon, conventioneers holding Lincoln masks depict the Republican Party when "Lincoln was on everybody's lips" but "speakers were the same old political reactionaries." The printed artist's signature is in the bottom right corner of the image with the inscription "To the Lincoln Life Foundation. / June. 1935 D.R.F."
