Description
This is a color illustrated postcard of Abraham Lincoln with the text of the Gettysburg Address printed at the center. At the left side is an oval illustration of Lincoln with an American flag, an eagle, and a rifle and utility belt behind it. At the right is an illustration of Lincoln with his arm outstretched, standing at a wooden podium decorated with red, white, and blue bunting and a chair behind him. "Lincoln Centennial Souvenir 1809 1909" is printed at the top of the postcard. Between the illustrations is printed the text, "Immortalized by an oration on the occasion of the dedication of the National Cemetary at Gettysburg the field of the most sanguinary conflict of the Civil War: a struggle which decided the supremacy of the National Government." "Lincoln's Birthday Series No.1" is printed on the back of the postcard. Part of The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum.
