Hand-colored page from Harper's Pictorial History of the Civil War, Volume 2, depicting President Abraham Lincoln reading to his son Tad. Lincoln sits in an ornate armchair in profile, legs crossed, with the book on his lap. Tad stands behind him, his eyes cast downward at the book. Lincoln wears glasses and a dark suit. Tad wears a green jacket. The page is titled "The Death Of Lincoln," page 781, and was featured in April of 1865.
