Description

This is a color illustrated postcard of Abraham Lincoln. The background of the postcard is a red, white, and blue American flag. At the top is an oval illustration of Lincoln with an American flag, an eagle, and a sheild. At the center is an illustration of a Lincoln standing on the steps of the White House with two white columns on either side and "Abraham Lincoln Martyred President" printed beside him. "1809 Lincoln Centennial Souvenir 1909" is printed across the top of the postcard. Below the illustrations is a short paragraph of text followed by the quote, "With malice toward none, with charity for all." Several features of the postcard have been marked with black marker. "Lincoln's Birthday Series No.1" is printed on the back of the postcard. Part of The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum.
