Description
This oval format 19th century photograph depicts President Lincoln seated, facing the viewer's right. He sits with his legs crossed, hands resting on his legs. He wears a black suit, vest, black bow tie, and white collared shirt, and has a pocket watch chain visible on his vest. His hair is combed to the side and his beard is trimmed. The photograph is adhered to a board. Below the photograph is printed: "Entered according to act of Congress, by Brady & Co., in the year 1865, in Clerk's office in District Court for District of Columbia. WASHINGTON." The title "President Lincoln," is printed across the bottom. Anthony Berger, a Brady studio photographer, took several poses of President Lincoln on February 9, 1864.
