Description

Thispen and ink illustration done from a photograph of the Lincoln Family home in Springfield, Illinois, taken several years after Lincoln's death is one of several illustrations done by C. M. Biggers for the book "The Lincoln Album : Life of the Preserver of the Union, the Liberator of a People, and the First American" published in 1907 by Hawkins Publishing Company, St. Louis, Missouri. The two-story home featured a fenced porch with a wooden fence continuing in the back yard. The house is depicted at an angle and from a slight distance, with trees in the backyard behind a fence as well as in front of the house by the sidewalk. There are four people, two women, a man, and a child, seen walking in front of the house. The artist's signature is written in the bottom right corner of the image.
