Description

This original illustration done from a photograph of Abraham Lincoln taken of him in Springfield, Illinois, in 1846 is one of several illustrations done by C. M. Biggers for the book "The Lincoln Album : Life of the Preserver of the Union, the Liberator of a People, and the First American" published in 1907 by Hawkins Publishing Company, St. Louis, Missouri. The illustration shows Lincoln seated facing the viewer wearing a dark jacket, vest, and pants, as well as a white collared shirt and black bow tie. His left arm is bent to rest on the arm of the chair, and his hand hangs off the side. His right arm is slightly bent with his hand resting in his lap.
