Description

This figure depicts Abraham Lincoln, standing, facing the viewer. His weight is mostly on his right foot with his left positioned foward. Lincoln is bearded, wearing long pants, a coat that ends at his waist, collared shirt, and a cloak that is draped over his right shoulder. His right arm is hidden in the folds of the cloak and his left arm is resting across his abdomen. In his left hand, he is holding a partially unrolled document that has the word, "Emancipation," engraved on it. The figure stands on a two tiered round pedestal that has a decorative floral pattern between the tiers. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
