Description

This bronze statuette depicts President Abraham Lincoln standing with his hands clasped in front and his head turned slightly to the viewer's right. The figure rests on an eight-sided base with "Bartlet. T Sc 77" engraved on the top surface near Lincoln's left foot. "Mitchel-Vance & Co." is engraved on the top surface near Lincoln's right foot. "A. Rolland Fr." is engraved below that on the side of the pedestal. The quotation from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address "THAT THIS NATION, UNDER GOD, SHALL HAVE A NEW BIRTH OF FREEDOM; & THAT GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE & FOR THE PEOPLE SHALL NOT PERISH FROM THE EARTH" is engraved on the plaque on the front face of the pedestal.
