Description

Round brass 1860 campaign ferrotype features a centered tintype portrait of John C. Breckinridge, the Southern Democratic Party presidential candidate, who wears a dark jacket and bow tie. The portrait is surrounded by raised braided trim. The subject's name is printed above his head. Raised braided trim encircles the button, as well as the words "The Constitution and the Laws." The top is pierced with a hole. The reverse is identical except it features a tintype portrait of Joseph Lane. His name is printed above his head.
