Description

Round brass 1864 campaign ferrotype features a centered tintype portrait of John C. Fremont who wears a Union Civil War uniform. The portrait is surrounded by raised braided trim. Also surrounding the portrait, on each side, is a shield, six flowers, and six stars. Above the subject's head is "For President" and on the bottom is "J.C. Fremont". The reverse side features a centered tintype portrait of John Cochrane who wears a dark jacket and bow tie. Raised flowers surround the portrait. "For Vice President" is written on the top of the button followed by a star and then "John Cochrane". Below the name is "PAT Aug 12 1862". Following that is another star.
