Description
Pin features Abraham Lincoln's head in frontal view on a gold ground. Lincoln is illustrated in color and has black print arching above his head. The print reads "Delaware Ave School, Feb. 12, '09". The back features a metal needle used for pinning. There is also an inserted piece of paper with blue or black print. This inserted paper is not centered and is missing the lower half of its emblem. But this specific emblem and manufacturer has been encountered before so its description will be the same. In the center, there is an ovular insignia or emblem surrounded by print. In the central space of the emblem, there is print that reads "Amalgamated Lithographers of America". In enclosed rectangles on the corners of the ovular emblem, print is also present. On the proper right print reads "Union" and on the proper left print reads "Label". The central space of the emblem is enclosed above and below by a double frame. Inside this frame, print is present. Above print reads "Local No. 11" and below print reads "Rochester". Above and below this emblem appears arched print. Above the print reads "Bastian Bros. Co. Mfr's of Ribbon, Metal, and". Below the print reads "Celluloid Novelties Rochester, N.Y.". Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
