Description

Kerosene lamp features a) a glass base or fount with a round body and pedestal embossed, "Pat. July 26, 1870"; a white and tan woven cotton wick that dips down into the fount; a brass fuel burner embossed "No.1 Queen Anne No. 1", chimney clamps, and knob to adjust the wick; and b) a glass chimney. William Herndon, partner in law practice with Abraham Lincoln from 1844-1860, used this kerosene lamp on his table while writing his biography of Abraham Lincoln.
