Description
This postcard is a photograph of the Souvenir Shop log cabin in New Salem State Park near Petersburg, Illinois. The sign on the door identifies the building. A larger sign over the door reads "Dinners & Lunches at the Wagon Wheel at park entrance." The smaller sign near the corner beside the door reads "We rent Kodaks, rain capes, dog leashes." The caption is printed along the bottom edge of the image. The number D-73 is printed in the lower left corner. The reverse of the postcard is divided in half vertically with the right side labeled "Address." Abraham Lincoln lived in the original village of New Salem from 1831 to 1837.
