Description

This hand-colored lithograph is titled "Soldier's Memorial for Company D of the 47th Regiment Indiana Volunteer Infantry" which was mustered into service on October 21, 1861, at Indianapolis, Indiana. It contains a list of every officer and private from the regiment along with notations if they died, were promoted, or discharged during the course of the Civil War as well as a short history of what the company did. Color illustrations surround the text. Entered according to act of Congress in district court of southern Ohio in 1863 by J. Wesley Waterman & Co.
