Description
This standup display features a photograph of sculptor Gutzon Borglum's life-size statue of Abraham Lincoln seated on a bench which is located in front of the courthouse in Newark, New Jersey. The title at the top of the poster is printed in medium blue ink. The photograph is printed in a medium green ink. To the viewer's left of the statue printed in red ink is "The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, Fort Wayne, Indiana." To the viewer's right of the statue is the caption for the photograph printed in black on an olive green background. The caption tells the viewer, "For beautiful picture of it [the statue] write to Lincoln National Life Foundation, Fort Wayne, Indiana." All of the above are printed on a light green background with a white margin on all sides. The number 15741 is printed in the lower right corner of the margin in very small type. The poster is pasted to a larger, bright green, decorative cardboard backing with a fold out triangular support on the reverse to form a standup display. The poster is an example of the use of Lincoln's name and/or image to promote positive feelings toward a business or organization.
