Description

This postcard features an illustration of President Abraham Lincoln standing beside a large American flag with the rope held in his right hand as if he is raising the flag. His left hand is extended above his head as if making a point to his listeners. The caption beneath the illustration is a quotation from President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address reading "we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain; that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom." The postcard reverse is divided. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
