Description
This linen postcard features the stained glass window in the Saint Stanislaus Cathedral of the Polish National Church which honors President Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of the United States. The church is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania and is said to be the first church to honor President Lincoln in this manner. President Lincoln is depicted standing facing mostly toward the viewer's right holding the lapel of his coat with his left hand. A patriotic eagle is on the floor at his feet. The image is surrounded by a white border with the caption printed in the top margin. The number 49804 is printed in the lower right corner of the border. The postcard reverse is divided. Narrative text is printed on the left side. A handwritten note in pencil reads "Erected in 1926, Inscription under portrait reads 'Committee Rebuilding of the Church'" is also on the left side.
