Description

This item consists of a cover folder with title and a sketch of President Abraham Lincoln on the front. On the reverse is a numbered list of major events in Lincoln's life with an explanatory paragraph for each. On page four of the cover folder is a Lincoln quotation and a paragraph from Ralph G. Newman on the character of Abraham Lincoln. Contained within the folder are 12 color prints done from the original paintings by John Morrell for the Morrell Calendar Series. Each print has a title and Lincoln quotation in the lower margin related to the subject of the print. Also in the cover folder is a small booklet (71.2009.081.2688n) with the same title and image from the cover folder. Each page of the booklet includes the section paragraph at the top and a black and white copy of each print with the title and quotation below. The last page of the booklet gives information about the editor, Ralph G. Newman and the illustrator, Isa Barnett.
