This color postcard features President Abraham Lincoln at Fort Monroe, Virginia, watching troops leaving to attack Norfolk, Virginia. The city surrendered May 10, 1862. With President Lincoln are Secretary of War Stanton, Secretary of the Treasury Chase, and Major General Wool. The postcard reverse is divided. Narrative text is printed on the left side.
