Printed form, 32 cm, filled in and signed. 'In pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of New York, entitled 'An Act to enable the qualified electors of this State, absent therefrom in the Military Services of the United States, in the Army or Navy thereof to vote,' Passed April 21st, 1864. Authorizes John H. Campbell of Lansingburgh, New York, to cast a vote for Charles D. Merrell in the General Election while Merrell is stationed in Virginia with the 169th Regiment, New York Volunteers. Signed by Charles D. Merrell, witnessed by John M. Landon, and endorsed by Alonzo Alden, Colonel 169th NY Vols. Yellow envelope, 11 x 24 cm, is printed with an affidavit signed by Merrell and Alden.
