Description
Cream silk Illinois delegate ribbon for the 1898 Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition and Indian Congress held in Omaha, Nebraska, from June 1 to October 31, 1898. Large red, white and blue bow attached to the top edge of the large ribbon. "ILLINOIS" in large black letters directly under the bow. Three oval portraits of President Abraham Lincoln, President Ulysses S. Grant, and Illinois Senator John Logan at center of ribbon. Lower quarter of ribbon has black text that reads, "The Home of Lincoln Grant Logan and printed just above the fringe is Omaha, 1898." Lower edge of ribbon has gold braid trim with 1.50" gold metallic tassels. Upper back edge of ribbon has large silver safety pin sewn to the ribbon.
