Description

This banner of white linen with blue, brown, and red print features the Union nomination for the 1864 presidential campaign. Head and shoulders images of the candidates each encircled with a vine wreath under the title "Union Nomination" are separated by Miss Liberty holding a flag with a patriotic scene beneath. Abraham Lincoln was running for President, and Andrew Johnson for Vice President. Below the scene is the text "For president Abraham Lincoln of Illinois, For vice president Andrew Johnson of Tennessee."
