Description

This is a commemorative ribbon made out of white silk. A thick black border runs around the inside edge. The ribbon features a three-quarter profile of Abraham Lincoln surrounded by a thick black oval; there is a star at the top of the oval. There are two partially obscured American flags on either side of the oval. A leaf motif is printed below the oval. The words "Abraham Lincoln 16th President of the United States, Born in Hardin County, Kentucky, July 12, 1809. Died at Washington City , D.C. April 15, 1865, Aged 56 years. His Country Mourns" are written in black lettering below the portrait. Part of The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
