Description

This color lithograph is the apotheosis of President Abraham Lincoln as he is carried into heaven by two winged angels under a ray of light. Lincoln is wearing a white robe draped with a blue sash and is resting on a cushion of clouds atop his open tomb labeled, "A. Lincoln, Died April 15th, 1865." Women, children, an eagle, and a Native American surround his tomb. The print is titled in the margin, "In Memory of Abraham Lincoln, The reward of the Just."
