Lee Surrenders to Grant
After what some thought would be a short war, Lee gave concessions to Grant at the Appomattox court house in April of 1865. A bloody war had come to an end. Upon convening and reaching an agreement for concessions the war had ended. Grant was merciful and supplied the Confederate army with 25,000 rations in hope to bring the country back together.
