The Escape and Suicide of John Wilkes Booth

The book "The Escape and Suicide of John Wilkes Booth" by Finis L. Bates, published in 1907, popularized the theory of Booth’s escape. In the book, Bates chronicles the life of the supposed Booth after the assassination of President Lincoln. Included in the book is Bates’ account of his friendship with St. Helen when they both lived in Texas.
