Abraham Lincoln's Deathbed
Shortly after Lincoln’s body was removed from the Petersen House on the morning of April 15th, photographer Julius Ulke, who boarded upstairs at the house, took this photograph of the empty deathbed with its rumpled coverlet and blood-soaked pillow. The handwritten caption below photograph identifies and dates the scene.
