William Harlan with a Friend
As with other family photographs taken in Iowa, this image of William Harlan (seated) and an unidentified friend was taken by the Leisenring Brothers Photographers in Mount Pleasant. The photograph is undated, taken during William’s teenage years during a summer trip home between Congressional sessions. Robert and Mary Harlan Lincoln’s children also spent summers in Mount Pleasant, visiting their Harlan grandparents.
