Description

This tinted postcard features a front view of the bronze statue of President Abraham Lincoln done by sculptor William Grandville Hastings and located in Bunker Hill, Illinois. Dedicated in 1904, President Lincoln is depicted standing as if were about to address a group of citizens. Lady Liberty is shown kneeling to inscribe the famous Lincoln quotation from his Second Inaugural Address "With Malice Toward None" on the pedestal. The image is surrounded by a white border with the caption printed in the bottom margin. The postcard reverse is divided.
