Description
This color linen postcard features an illustration of The Lincoln Group or the buildings in the Lincoln Village exhibit at the Chicago World's Fair in 1933. The group consists of reproductions of five buildings: the Lincoln birthplace cabin, the Lincoln's Indiana home on Pigeon Creek, the general store in New Salem, Illinois, the Rutledge Tavern in New Salem, and the Wigwam in Chicago where Lincoln was nominated as the Republican candidate for president. A white border surrounds the image with the title and the number 707 printed in the top margin. The reverse is divided in half vertically with narrative text printed at the top of the left half. A brief handwritten message from Albert H. Griffith is below the text. The recipient's address is on the right half. This postcard was sent to Mr. E. L. Bangs of Baltimore, Maryland.
