Description

This tinted postcard features an overhead view of the Lincoln Group at the Chicago World's Fair in 1933. The group consists of five buildings, each of which marks a period of time in the life of Abraham Lincoln: the birthplace cabin near Hodgenville, Kentucky; the log cabin home on Pigeon Creek in southern Indiana; the general store in New Salem, Illinois; the Rutledge Tavern in New Salem; and the Wigwam where Lincoln was nominated as the Republican presidential candidate in 1860. The image is surrounded by a white border with the caption and the number 707 printed in the top margin The postcard reverse is divded. Narrative text is printed on the left side. A handwritten note in blue ink from Mr. & Mrs. A. H. Griffith to Prof. & Mrs. J. B. Mac Harg of Appleton, Wisconsin, is also on the left side.
