Description

This black and white portrait depicts Lincoln standing in a three-quarter profile with his PL hand behind his back and his PR hand hanging at his side. He wears a suit with a long jacket and black bowtie. The coloring of the print at the top of Lincoln's body and his head is completely colored in and shaded. Moving down to the bottom of the print, it gets less filled in until it is completely white besides the outline of his hand, his pants, and the ends of his jacket. The middle part is light enough so that you can see the intersecting black lines of the engraving. This print has an ombre effect, starting dark and working to light at the bottom. The engraver's name is on Lincoln's coat at the very bottom of the image, and Lincoln's name is underneath the image. Duplicate of 71.2009.081.1464.
