This print is a reproduction of the original lithograph done in later 19th century after a sketch by A. E. Mathews depicting the Battle of Perryville in Kentucky on October 8, 1862. The image pictures a line of Union soldiers from the 21st Wisconsin firing on several lines of Confederate soldiers who are charging. Officers can be seen behind the Union line with two on horseback and four standing on the ground. The title is printed below the image. Brief narrative text is printed below the title reading "The Rebels charge on a Battery and are repulsed by the 21st Wisconsin. Attempt of the Rebels under Cheatham to turn the Left Flank. The 21st lost 41 killed and 101 wounded." Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
