This engraving of President Abraham Lincoln and his youngest son, Tad, was done from a photograph taken of them on February 9, 1864, in Washington, D. C. The image is oval framed on a black background. President Lincoln is shown seated in a chair facing to the right of the image. He is wearing glasses. His son is standing behind the left arm of the chair. The book in Lincoln's lap has text. The frame of the chair has a rope-like design. Type beneath the image reads "AFTER A PHOTO FROM LIFE" to the viewer's left below the image, "PUBLISHED BY BRADLEY & CO. 66 NTH 4TH ST PHILADELPHIA" centered below the image, and "ENGRAVED BY A.B. WALTERS" below the image to the viewer's right. The title "President Lincoln and his son "Tad" is in the lower margin. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
