Description
This postcard features the former Logan County, Illinois, courthouse where Abraham Lincoln visited twice a year during the time he traveled the Illinois Eighth Judicial Circuit as an attorney. Since the Logan County seat was moved from Postville to Mt. Pulaski, the building was used for various other purposes until Henry Ford purchased it. Ford had it dismantled and moved to Dearborn, Michigan, where it was reconstructed in time for the opening of his Greenfield Village on October 21, 1929. The image is surrounded by a light-colored border with the caption printed in the lower margin. The postcard reverse is divided. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
