Description

This color postcard features the Kentucky Panel, one of three limestone panels on the exterior of the cloister connecting the two memorial buildings in the Nancy Hanks Lincoln State Memorial park near Lincoln City, Indiana. The Thomas Lincoln family lived in Kentucky when Abraham was born in 1809. The family moved to southern Indiana in 1816 when Abraham was 7 years old. His mother, Nancy Hanks Lincoln, died two years later and is buried there. The postcard reverse is divided with the caption and narrative text printed on the left side.
