Description

This is a print of a political poster that commemorates Abraham Lincoln's presidency and birthday. It features a portrait of Lincoln floating over the top half of a globe. On the gobe is written, "Our Fight Against World Dictatorships and Communism". There is a quote next to Lincoln, "This government cannot endure half-slave and half-free." Lincoln's face is streaked with horizontal white lines that span nearly the entire width of the image, they seem to be an unintentional product of printing. The artist signed "Werner" in the bottom proper left corner. The title is handwritten in pencil in the top margin, "His Truth Goes Marching On" In the upper proper left corner, "Fri." is handwritten, and "57 1/2" is handwritten in the bottom proper right corner. On the reverse side, there is a handwritten note, and the date, "12 Feb '54". There is also a red stamp of a star.
