Description
This print was a supplement to The Lerna Eagle newspaper Lincoln Anniversary Edition in 1928. Below the title of the article is the note: "The following reminiscence of the Martyred President by R. H. Osborne was written a number of years ago." An illustration of a left side bust of President Lincoln appears at the head of the article. The reminiscence was written by a man who had been present during Abraham Lincoln's last visit to his stepmother in February of 1861 when several friends were gathered for the occasion. An illustration of the log cabin in which Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln lived in Coles County, Illinois, is placed within the text of the article. The text continues on the reverse side of the page. Another article titled "Lincoln's Three Log Cabins" is also on the reverse. The last article on the reverse of the page titled "Shiloh Lincoln Memorial Club, Janesville, Ill." includes the names of the officers and the constitution and by-laws of the group whose purpose is to care for the Lincoln graves and the cemetery.
