Description

This greeting card features a woven bookmark attached to the front of the card. A flap cut from the card folds over the bookmark to look like the cover of a book with the title "Book Mark Greeting." The bookmark woven on ecru-colored cloth has a head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln in an oval frame at the top with his name in script immediately below. A quotation from President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address follows with the citation woven at the end. The second page of the card has a note at the bottom, "This woven greeting may be detached and preserved as a book mark." The third page of the card has the word "Greetings" in script near the top and three signatures under the word "From" at the bottom: Stewart W. McClelland, Robert L. Kincaid, and R. Gerald McMurtry, who were all associated with Lincoln Memorial University at the time the card was produced. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
