Description

This cacheted cover commemorates the centennial anniversary of Piatt County, Illinois, on January 27, 1941. The cachet printed in orange and brown ink features the outline of the county with the seal of Piatt County and an illustration of the Bryant House at Bement inside. An illustrated portrait of Abraham Lincoln is also part of the cachet. The envelope was postmarked at the Monticello post office on January 27, 1941, at 11:00 AM. The envelope is addressed to Lincoln Nat'l LIfe Foundation, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tucked inside of the envelope is a folder titled Abraham Lincoln and Piatt County with text by Theodore S.
