Description

This postcard features illustrations of the buildings in which President Abraham Lincoln lived throughout his life. The top left image is the cabin in which he was born in 1809. The image to the right is representative of one of the cabins in which the Lincoln family lived during his childhood years in Indiana from 1816-1830. The image at the bottom left is representative of a cabin which Lincoln helped his father build when his family moved to Illinois in 1830. The fourth image depicts the White House when Lincoln began his first term as sixteenth president of the United States in 1861. A border surrounds the four images. The postcard reverse is undivided and has a memorial cachet printed in black ink in the top left corner. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
